New Extension of Marina Development - Isla Morada, Florida
This new waterfront development in Islamorada brings together contemporary design and coastal resilience, anchored by a state-of-the-art marina designed and built by Nichols Architects. The project introduces a series of elevated rental residences thoughtfully arranged around a group of existing early-2000s buildings, creating a layered and cohesive architectural dialogue.
Each new building is raised above ground to mitigate flooding, with a vertical layout that places open living, kitchen, and social areas on the second level, and private bedrooms on the third. Generous terraces and breezeways enhance natural ventilation and connection to the outdoors.
The new marina serves as the heart of the project—functioning as both a vibrant community amenity and a design anchor. Together, the architecture and marina form a resilient, modern coastal community that honors its past while looking toward the future.
